Over the last 3 weeks the eagle-eyed amongst you may have spotted that we have been cooking up something rather exciting and today the wait is over, our rebrand, new look and new name (eek!) is officially LIVE!
This has been six long months in the making and our bodies are 50% caffeine, 50% deliveroo but we have loved every minute (well, maybe not every minute!) There is something invigorating about pulling apart every tiny grain (pun intended) of the business and taking the time to evaluate, fine-tune and refresh.
It started with Sophie & Clare sipping a Costa hot chocolate discussing a potential re-brand to align with our long-term vision and goals, with a view of reviewing new color palettes, messaging and potentially some further logo variations. Instead, we left with an entirely new business name, an adjusted client services structure, new messaging and well, we had pretty much turned everything on its head. Little lesson here: Hot chocolate = life as you know it is about to change…
Why the rebrand?
A rebrand had been on the agenda for quite some time, so although our 2-hour elevenses session seemed rather impromptu, it was actually a very long-awaited meeting.
There are multiple reasons why a business may rebrand and this is of course very individual. For us it has always been incredibly important to ‘practice what we preach’ and we felt our previous brand/name wasn’t oozing the level of creativity that we so adore. Every member of our team is vibrant, creative and innovative and we wanted a brand that reflected that from the outset.
Secondly, our client base ranges from start-up challenger brands to global giants and we wanted a brand that intrigued and excited everyone within this broad spectrum. Although we may be a small team, we are most definitely a mighty one and it is important for us to send the appropriate messaging through our visuals and copy.
Why SALT?
Firstly, come on, it’s a pretty cool word! It’s punchy, powerful and we absolutely love the playful connotations that it provides from a marketing perspective. We have always felt we provide a bit of extra ‘spice’ to our client’s visual content, so ‘SALT’ worked perfectly within our messaging plus it gives a little nod to our expertise in the food & drink space.
As the brand visuals and key messaging developed we began to incorporate a circle/dot into the logo and brand assets to provide a playful representation of a salt grain. We have had countless hours of fun incorporating this into our marketing materials, we love how timeless and versatile it is.
What Will Change?
The most obvious changes will be our visuals across our website, social media, online platforms and any marketing material you receive from us. We will no longer be trading as Skip50 but dont panic if you forget, as all of our old website, social media and content links will be pointing to the new domain: www.salt-studio.uk
Our core offering remains exactly the same, if anything, we now have an improved and more refined offering to support clients in every single aspect of their visual content needs.
You will also spot our new personal SALT. headshots (we had way too much fun on this shoot!) within our email footers, website and proposals.
As with everything we do, we love and welcome with open arms your thoughts and comments on our fresh new look. We hope you love it as much as we do and we really look forward to you joining us on this exciting journey ahead.
